Use Your Favorite Sports Team Logos in Your Billiard Room
If you are a sports fanatic, and you either want to build or already have a home billiard or rec room, the following article may assist you when it is time to redecorate or furnish it. The world of sports is humongous, with almost endless possibilities regarding anything from the decoration of a billiard or rec room to collecting anything with your favorite sports team logo that you can get your hands on. Maybe you want to completely refurnish your billiard room with your favorite NHL team logo. Or maybe you would like to finish off your bar with a set of Chicago Blackhawks bar stools. There are many routes you can take when decorating with sports team logos, some of which are discussed here.
If you are a true sports fan, you obviously will have a favorite team or two. Whether it be hockey, baseball, football, basketball or any other sport, both college and pro, you are sure to be satisfied if you use your favorite team logo to decorate your billiard room. You could possibly get razzed by your friends if they happen to like a different team, but who cares. It is all in good fun—plus, it is your billiard room, not anyone else’s.
Another idea is to have rival team logos and colors as a billiard room theme. Just about every major sport in every major city has a major rival, including the NCAA. Perhaps a set of Saint Louis Blues bar stools and a Detroit Redwings will look good in the corner of your billiard room, surrounded by other items with both team logos, including wall cue racks, neon clocks, mirrors, cue sticks, dart cabinets, billiard balls, and more. And the decorations between the two rival teams’ logos and colors by no means have to be equal. Your favorite team of the two should be the dominant sports team logo and color scheme in the room. In my home billiard room, my rival team items include Saint Louis Rams vs. Kansas City Chiefs billiard balls and four bar stools, two Rams and two Chiefs. The rest of my billiard room is Saint Louis Rams and Saint Louis Cardinals, which brings up my next topic.
It is also somewhat common to have intersports themes, especially in a billiard room, bar, or someplace where sporting events are typically viewed by whole groups of people. I happen to have Saint Louis memorabilia, because that is who I like (I know the Rams suck now, but I have been rooting for them since Los Angeles). And although intersports themes are usually based on favorite cities, no rule states that you cannot be a fan of two completely unrelated teams, like the Miami Dolphins and the New York Knicks. If those are the teams you like, then go with them. Some of the more common sports theme ideas for billiard room team logos and décor include:
- Favorite team or teams
- College ball vs. professional ball
- Intersports, such as hockey and baseball, football and soccer, etc.
- Rival teams
- City-based sports team logos
- Legendary players
- Vintage or dissolved teams
- Specific sporting event, like a Superbowl or all-star game theme
As I stated before, there are many options. If you know what sports team logo (or logos) you want to build from, then you are moving in the right direction. Your next step is to think about what you want to decorate your billiard room with. Team logo bar stools, pub tables, pool table lights, and dart cabinets are all good ideas. You might even want to start out with smaller items, such as a team logo wall clock, mirror, framed attire, rug or pennant, which use up no extra space at all. Hopefully this article will help you in your search to create the perfect sports team logo theme for your home billiard room.
